O'Hare International Airport is 75 miles north of Kankakee County, and Midway Airport is 50 miles north. The Greater Kankakee airport is also available for personal aircraft landing space.

A flag ceremony will open Heritage Day with the Momence Honor Guard and Library Director Robin Adkins will dedicate a new sign. From 12:30 until 5:30pm, family-friendly activities include “Mrs. Lincoln”, a photo booth, a silhouette artist, a 1940’s Musical Tribute, the Theatiki Fife & Drum Corps, and a Civil War Living History group . Local historians at City Hall will share their stories. The war memorials, historic mile markers, cemeteries, historic downtown buildings, churches, parks and homes will be open for the public to immerse themselves in the history, culture, and traditions of Momence. All activities are free of charge!
