On Wednesday, September 18 from 10:30am-1pm join us for a ribbon cutting by the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce for the newly repaired and restored 18' x 10' depiction in stained glass of Da Vinci's The Last Supper by Henry Barth. It contains over 5000 pieces of glass. Guided tours of the building and all 17 stained glass windows will be offered. The main features of the stained-glass tour are: 4 windows by the famed German stained-glass artist Franz Mayer of Munich created in the early 1930's, as well as The Last Supper window by Henry Barth. In addition, view the 18' x 10' depiction of Jesus: The Good Shepherd (artist unknown), and the story of Jesus created in various stained-glass windows throughout the church. Church tours at 10:30, 11 and 12:30. Ribbon cutting at Noon. Lunch served 11:30-1. Enjoy Paul Johnson playing a few pieces on the church's 34-rank Keates pipe organ.
